(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 299, & 300 Benjamin Adams To Benjamin Thomson Deed 100 acres This Indenture made this seventeenth day of January Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. Betwee Benjamin Adams of the state of No. Carolina and County of Bladen of the one part and Benjamin Tomson of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds to me in hand paid before the Ensealing and Delivering of these presents I acknowledge myself to be fully satisfied contented and paid every part and parcel have given granted bargained sold unto Benjamin Tomson his heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever one certain peice of Land part of a Tract of Land taken up by Mathews Branch and Cowhold Begining at a pine with a picture on it thence So. 30 Wt. to the corner a stake thence So. 60 Et. 170 poles to a stake on George Smiths line thence his line No. 50 Et. 60 poles to a stake his corner thence his other line So. 40 Et. 160 poles to a pine East side of Cowhole Branch thence Lewis Barnes line to a pine Benjamin Tomsons corner and thence along with the chopt trees to the begining one Hundred acres be the same more or Less. To have and to hold together unto the said Benjamin Tomson his heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever and and as for my part the aforesaid Benjamin Adams my heirs Executors administrators and assigns doth hereby Covenant and grant to and with the said Benjamin Tomson his heirs Excrs. administrators or assigns that the aforesaid Land and premises is free and clear of all Incumbrances whatsoever and that the said Benjamin TOmson his heirs Executors administrators and assigns may and shall forever hereafter hold possess occupy and peaceably enjoy the said Land and premises with all Benefits and appurtainances to the same belonging only excepted yealding and paying the yearly rents which may become due furthermore for my part the said Benjamin Adams my heirs Executors administrators and assigns by these presents doth forever hereafter warrant and Defend against the Lawfull cliam of any person or persons whatsoever the aforesaid Land and premises with all Benefits and appurtainances to the same belonging unto Benjamin Tomson his heirs Executors administrators or assigns. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and year first above written. signed sealed and Delivered In the presence of us Benjamin Adams Henry Johnson Solomon Carter State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of Henry Johnston & ordered to be Registered.
