(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 19 & 20 Auston Beesley To Alexander Dickson Deed of 113 acres of land This indenture made the fourthth day of August in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty two in the sixth year og our Independence between John Beesley of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin and Alexander Dickson of the same place of the other, witnesseth that the said Auston Beesley for & in consideration for the sum of twenty pounds specie to him in hand paid by Alexander Dickson aforesaid before enealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Auston Beesley doth hereby acknowledge himself to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid, and hath by these presents, given, granted, bargained, and sold unto Alexander Dickson aforesaid one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Duplin on the east side of Maxwell Swamp on both side of Lawney's branch. Begining at a post by the head of said Lawney's Branch a corner of the patent thence as the patent line North 60 East 80 poles to a Hickory Sapling Solomon Beesley's corner, thence as Solomon Beesley's line North 51 East 110 poles to two pines Beesley's corner, thence North 39 West 234 poles to four pines by the road on the patent line; thence as the same to the beginning, containing in the whole 113 acres be the same more or less part of the contents of a pattent granted to William Rigbee, Joseph Dickson and Alexander Dickson for six hundred and forty acres bearing date the 25th day of July 1774, to have and to hold to him the said Alexander Dickson his heirs and assigns forever to them and their onlt proper use benefit and befoof, and the said Alexander Dickson the above bargained land and premises shall and may have hold use occupy and enjoy and possess as his own free and lawful inheritance free from all incumbrance whatsoever and the said Auston Beesley the above against land and premises shall and will warrant and defend to him the said Alexander Dickson his heirs & assigns forever and against the said Auston Beesley his heirs & assigns as also from and against the just and lawful clain of any other person or persons whatsoever who may hereafter lay any lawful claim to the same free from all incumbrances whatever except the takes that may hereafter become due on the said lands. In testimony whereof the said Auston Beesley hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Auston Beeslely Signed sealed and delivered in presents and in presence of us Solomon Beesley James Dickson State of North Carolina Duplin County, July Court 1784.
