(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 294, 295, & 296 Austin Beesly & James Rogers To Solomon Beesley Deed for 151 acres lands This indenture made the eighth day of April in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty six and in the eleventh year of the American Independance, Between Austin Beesly and James Rogers of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part & Solomon Beesley of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency to them in hand well & truly paid before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath by these presents given granted bargained sold and set over to the said Solomon Beesley his heirs and assigns forever the following tracts or parcels of land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on the west side of the North East River & on both sides of Maxwell swamp. Begining at a pine on the North Side of Reedy Meadow Branch, on the edge of said branch Solomon Beesley's corner thence along his line No. 10 Et. 120 pole to a pine, thence North eight pole to a pine said Austin Beesley's own corner, thence as his line to his corner and past crossing Maxwell swamp Wt. 166 poles to black Jack on Alexander Armstrong's line, thence as his line So. 27 poles to a pine his corner, thence as his other line So. 25 Et. 56 poles to a pine at Abraham Beesley's corner, thence as Abraham Beesley's line So. 50 Et. to the run of Maxwell swamp, thence down the run of said swamp as it meanders to the mouth of Reedy Meadow runn thence up the run of said Reedy Meadow to the begining, containing in the whole one hundred and fifty one acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises with all the appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Solomon Beesley his heirs and assigns forever, free from all former gifts grants mortgages deeds wills executions entents or troubles whatsoever committed or done by them the said Austin Beesley & James Rodgers or any other person by from or under them, and the said Austin Beesley and James Rodgers the aforesaid land & premises to him the said Solomon Beesley will warrent & forever defend to him and his heirs from & against them the said Austin Beesley & James Rodgers their heirs and assigns forever, as also from and against the just & lawfull claim of all persons whatsoever who may hereafter lay any lawfull claim tot he same. In witness whereof the said Austin Beesley and James Rodgers have hereunto set their hands & seals the & date above written. Austin Beesley James Roegers Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Thomas Carlton Alex Porter State of North Carolina Duplin County October Term 1786.
