Deed 250 Acres


This Indenture  made this first day Dec’er in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred &
ninety Six-and in the Twenty first year of American independence- Between Aron Hodgeson of Duplin 
County in the State of No Carolina of the one part- and John Thally of the same county and state of 
the other part Witnesses That for in Consideration of the sum of Fifty five Pounds good and lawful 
money to him in hand paid by the aforesaid John Thally the receipt whereof Is hereby acknowledged- 
hath given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed by these presents doth give  grant 
bargain and sell alien Convey and confirm to the said John Thaley his heirs and assigns one certain 
Tract or parcel of land lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on the South Side of Maxwell & 
Cabin branch, Beginning at one Ash in Cummings line on the edge of Calbin branch line given as his 
line So 135 poles to a Stake in the center of two little oaks and a Hickory-thence No 87 Et 216 poles
to a pine in Thaleys line thence with Thaleys line So 34 Wt 180 poles to a white oak his corner the 
same course continues one pole to a water oak and Ash on the run of Maxwell thence up the 
meander of the run to the fork of Cabbin branch and thence the meander thereof to the beginning 
containing by estimation one Hundred and fifty acres more or less- as also one other Tract or parcel 
of land sites also lying and being in the same county and State and  Domain as the above (To Wit)  
Beginning at a stake his corner Cummings line thence by Cummings line So 48 pole To his cordons 
thence Barne course continued 79 poles to a

Bay and finale gum in a pond thence Et 127 poles to a pine in a Drain of Rody branch Pocoson
Thence No 127 poles to a stake in his line of a survey of 100 acres thence with his line to the 
beginning Containing by Estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less  To have  and to 
hold the aforesaid lands or parcels of land and premises with sole and singular the privileges and 
appurtenances Estate right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him The said Aron 
Hodgeson unto the aforesaid John Thaley his heirs and assigns forever and theJohn Hodgeson for 
himself and his heirs unto the aforesaid  John Thaley his heirs and assigns  the aforesaid two Tracts 
or parcels of land and every part and parcel thereof shall and will warrant and forever Defend against 
him the said  Aron His heirs and assigns or every other person or persons by from or under him-In 
witness whereof the said Aaron Hodgeson hath hereunto set his hand and seal
