Archibald Canndy To Hardy Strickling
Deed 182 acres
This Indenture made this Eight day of February one thousand eight hundred and
thirty nine between Archibald Cannady of the State of North Carolina and County
of Duplin of the one pare and Hardy Strickling of the State of North Carolina and
County of duplin of the other witnesseth that the Said Archibald Cannady for and
in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and twenty dollars to him in hand paid
by the afore said Hardy Strickling the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge hath
given Granted bargained Sold assigned setover and conform and by these presents
doth bargain sell and conform unto him the said Hardy Strickling his heirs and
assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of
Duplin and State of North Carolina and on the head waters of Rockfish Creek (Viz)
beginning at a pine and runs thence Wt 12 poles to a red oak thence South 34 poles
to a pine thence wt 192 poles to a black gum thence No. 196 poles to blackjack
thence Et. 51 poles to a pine Contining thence So 33 Et 40 poles to a Spruce pine in
the head of the rice or mill branch, thence down the run of the said Branch as it
meanders to the beginning containing one hundred and Eighty two acres be the same
more or less to have and to hold the above bargain Land and primisses together with
all and every of its members and appertainances and I the said Archabald Cannady
shall and will for ever warrant and defend the above named land and primisses and
appurtainances unto him the said Hardy Strickling his heirs and assigns forever free
from the claim of me or any other person or persons whatever in witness whereof I the
said Archibald Cannady have here unto set my hand and affixet my Seal the day and
year first above written
