(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 275, & 276 Anthony Lewis To James Hughes Deed 30 acres This Indenture made between Anthony Lewis and James Hughes the Eighteenth of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and ninety. Know all men by these presents that I Anthony Lewis of North Carolina of the County of Duplin Planter do for and in consideration and our of love Do give and bequeath unto the said James Hughes his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever a certain Tract or parcell of Land lying and being in the County of Duplin and North Carolina running as follows. Begining at a large pine in the fork of Gum Branch running No. 35 Et. 90 poles to a pine thence along the line So. 50 Et. to a marked corner on the line thence along a line of marked trees down to Reedy Branch thence down said Branch to the old line and along the old line to the begining it being by quess thirty acres be the same more or Less do give untot he said Hughes his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Anthony Lewis do acquit myself my heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever from this day forth From holding any Right or title to the same said Tract of Land above mentioned with all that is upon the same as witness my hand and seal the day and date above written.
