Anthony Jones To William Chirchwell
Deed 80 acres
This Indenture made seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and ninety one between Anthony Jones of the County of Duplin and state of North
Carolina of the one part and William Chirchwell of the Coutny and state aforesaid of the
other part. Witnesseth that the said Anthony Jones for and in consideration of the sum of
fifty pounds specie to him in hand paid before the signing sealing and Delivery of these
presents whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself fully satisfied contented and paid and of
every part and parcel thereof. And I the said Anthony Jones have given granted bargained
and sold alienated and confirmed unto him the said William Chirchwell a certain Tract or
parcel of Land contain by estimation eighty acres be the same more or Less paten Bearing
date the 10th day of November 1784. The said paten granted to Lewis Barns and made over
from Lewis Barns to Anthony Jones and from said Jones to said Chirchwell the said eighty
acres be the same more or less being the lower part of the two hundred acres mentioned in
said Paten Begining on the main prong of burncoat at the run in that line that calls for
320 poles and runs No. 25 Wt. to a pine over burncoat swamp thence So. 65 Wt. along Adams
line 84 poles to a pine on the Edge of Cowhole branch thence down said branch four poles
to a pine on George Smiths line thence his line So. 42 Et. 28 poles to a Black jack his
corner thence So. 45 Wt. down Cowhole Branch to the mouth thence up Burncoat Runing the
meanders of the said Branch to the Begining to the said William Chirchwell To have and to
hold the aforesaid bargained Lands and premises thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining
to the only proper use benefit and behoofe of him the said William Chirchwell his heirs
Excrs. adminisrs. or assigns forever free and clear of all mortgages jointers Dowers
Judgements Executions and all Incumbrances of any kind whatsoever and further more I the
said Anthony Jones for myself my heirs Executors administrators do warrant and forever
defend the said aforesaid Land and premises unto the said William Chirchwell his heirs
Executors admrs. and assigns forever with each and singular the appurtainances to the same
belonging or in any wise appurtaining according to the True meaning of these presents in
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixt my seal the day and year first above
written.
