(Transcribed by Joan S DUnn) Deed Book E Page 326, & 327 Anthony Jones To Elizabeth Kerney Deed 50 acres This Indenture made this Twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety one. Between Anthony Jones of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin planter of the one part and Elizabeth Kerney of teh County of dobbs and state aforesaid Single woman of the other part Witnesseth that I the said Anthony Jones do for and in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds currency to me in hand paid by the said Elizabeth Therney before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied and paid and every part and parcel thereof do hereby acquit exonerate and discharge her the said Elizabeth Kerney her heirs or assigns hath given granted bargained and sold unto the said Elizabeth Kerney a certain parcel or Land containing fifty acres be the same more or less the said Land lying and being in the County and state aforesaid Begining at a Blackjack at the head of a small branch on the South side of the head prong of Burncoar and runs along a row of marked trees somewhat Easterdly to Fredrick Jones's line thence with his line to Burncoat thence down Burncoat to the mouth of the Branch thence up the said Branch to the Blackjack the Begining including the improvement where the said Anthony Jones lived the said Land being part of on hundred and fifty acres Patened by the said Anthony Jones his the said Elizabeth Kerney her heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever to hold each and singular every part and parcel thereof with all previledges and advantages to the same belonging or in any ways appurtaining to their only proper use benefit and behooffe without any Interuption of him the said Anthony Jones or any other person whatsoever and furthermore I the said Anthony Jones do warrant and Defend the same unto the said Elizabeth Kerney her heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and date first above written. signed sealed and Delivered in presence of Anthony Jones George Smith Senior James Moody State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of James Moody and ordered to be Registered.
