Andrew Wilson To John Greer
Deed for 150 acres lands
This indenture made this sixteenth day of September in the year one thousand seven hundred and
eighty three in the seventh year of American Independence, between Andrew Wilson of the State
of North Carolina & County of Duplin planter of the one part and John Greer planter, of the
State & County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Andrew Wilson for and in
consideration of the sum of forty five pounds current money of the said State to him in hand
well & truly paid before the sealing & delivering of these presents, by the said John Green the
receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and himself therewith fully satisfied contented &
paid & of every part & parcel thereof doth acquit & discharge the said John Greer his heirs
executors & administrators forever, by these presents, he the said Andrew Wilson hath given
granted bargained sold conveyed confirmed assigned set over & by these presents for himself his
heirs executors & administrators doth fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell convey
confirm assign & set over unto the said John Greer his heirs & assigns forever, all that piece
or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County aforesaid on the South side of Goshen
swamp on a branch of Maple swamp including his own improvements, containing one hundred and
fifty acres. Begining at a red oak by his field & runs thence So. 70 Wt. 155 poles to a pine,
thence No. 20 Wt. 155 poles to a black jack, thence North 70 East 155 poles to a red oak, thence
to the begining. Containing by estimation one hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less,
as appear by patent bearing date the twenty fifty day of September one thousand seven hundred
and sixty six, together with all woods waters & water courses thereunto belonging or in any
ways appertaining with all profits benefits and advantages to the same or any part thereof
belonging or in any wise appertaining, as also the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders
thereof & every part & parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said one hundred & fifty acres
of land as above bounded, with there & every of there appertaenences unto the said John Green
his heirs & assigns forever, freely & clearly exonerated acquitted & discharged saved & kept
harmless & undammified of and from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains
sales mortgages intails jointures judgements extents executions or any other incumbrance
whatsoever except the guit rents that may hereafter become due to the State & the said Andrew
Wilson doth for himself his heirs executors & administrators, warrent & engage that at the time
of sealing & delivering of these presents, he is the true sole & lawful owner of the said land
and premises, and hath good right & power & lawful authority to bargain sell convey & forever
to confirm the said land & the manner & form above said so as to make the said John Greer his
heirs & assigns forever a perfect & absolute estate of inheritance, & further more the said
Andrew Wilson doth for himself his heirs executors & administrators hereby engage to the defend
the said John Greer his heirs & assigns against the lawful claim of him the said Andrew Wilson
his executors and administrators forever hereafter, or any other person or persons whatsoever
forever hereafter by these presents and at his or their cost in the law make or cause to be made
and duly executed any other deed or instruments of conveyance as he or they or his or their
councils in the law shall advise devise or request & require and for the same making the title
of the said land and premises to the said John Greer his heirs & assigns forever. In witness
whereof the said Andrew Wilson hath hereunto set his hand & fixed his seal the day & year above
written.
