Andrew Wallace To Timothy Murphy
Deed for 58 acres lands
This indenture made this tenth day of March in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand
seven hundred & eighty five, & in the ninth year of our Independency, between Andrew Wallace of
the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part, and Timothy Murphy of the same
place. Witnesseth, that the said Andrew Wallace for and in consideration of the sum of thirty
pounds to him in hand wll & truly paid by the aforesaid Timothy Murphy before the ensealing and
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he hereby acknowledges himself fully satistied
contented and paid, hath by these presents given granted bargained sold assignes and set over
to the said Timothy Murphy his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land
sittuate lying & being in the County of Duplin aforesaid and on a branch of Stocking head.
Begining at a poplar & black gum in the branch & runs South 60 Wt. 100 poles to a pine, thence
So. 30 Et. 88 pole to a pine by Timothy Murphy's line, thence No. 40 Et. 86 pole to a black gum
in the branch, thence tot he first station. To have and to hold the said land and premises,
being in th whole fifty eight acres be the same more or less, with all the appurtenances to the
same belonging, or in any wise appertaining of every nature or kind whatsoever, to him the said
Timothy Murphy his heirs and assigns forever, free from all former gifts grants mortgages
intails dowers righty or title of dowers or any other incumbrance whatever given granted or
done by him the said Andrew Wallace or any other person whatever, by from or under him, and the
said Andrew Wallace the aforesaid land and premises shall and will warrent & forever defend to
him the said Timothy Murphy his heirs & assigns forever, from and against him the said Andrew
Wallace his heirs & assigns as also from and against the just & lawfull clame of every other
person or persons who may hereafter lay any lawfull clame to the same, and the said Timothy
Murphy the aforesaid lands & premises shall and may have hold use occupy enjoy & possess as his
own free and lawfull inheritance, free from all incumbrance whatsoever, the taxes hereafter
excepted which may become due. In witnes, whereof the said Andrew hath hereunto set his hand
and seal the date above written.
