Absalom Boyet To Obediah Wade
Deed for sudry pieces lands
To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I Absalon Boyet
now of Dobbs County & in the State of No. Carolina, planter, that for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred & twenty five pounds current money of the State aforesaid to me
in hand paid by Obadiah Wade of Duplin County & State aforesad plantet, the rect. I do
acknowledge & am satisfied contented & paid, have by these presents bargained and sold
aliened and confirmed assigned & set over to the said Obadiah Wade his heirs exrs. adms.
& assigns forever, a certain piece or parcel of land containing 5 acres, more or less, it
being the mority of one hundred & fifty acres which I the aforesaid Absalom Boyet bought
of Major Croom of Dobbs County as by his deed in the registers office in Duplin will at
large appear the mority of which land lyeth in Duplin County on the north side of a Branch
called Spring Branch near Prescots line & the dividing line runs as the fence runs, that
being the bounds by which is mentioned in John Williams's deed for the mority that Absolom
Boyet sold to the said John Williams, & whereon Lutson Stroud did live, & runs down the
spring branch into Panter Swamp, thence up panter swamp & so including all that part, being
seventy acres more or less, on the north side with all buildings fences & orchards thereon
together with one hundred acres more or wood land in said County of Duplin on the Et. side
of the No. East River joining Geo. Smith's line, between the head Panther swamp & the dry
pocoson. Begining at a pine George Smith's line & runs with his line No. 36 pole to a pine
Smith's corner thence with his line Wt. 80 poles to a pine Smith's corner, thence No. 86
poles to a pine, thence Et. 160 pole to a Lightwood by a meadow at the head of Panter,
thence So. 120 pole to a Black jack and thence to the begining, togeather with all woods
waters and water courses thereon standing & growing thereon, and all profits commodities
advantages & appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining,
as also the moiety of the aforesaid one hundred and fifty acres of land including the one
hundred acres of wood land discribed as aforesaid with every part and parcel thereof unto
the same belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have & to hold the said moiety with one
hundred acres of wood land as above mentioned & discribed, be the same mre or less, unto
him the said Obadiah Wade his heirs executors adms. and assigns forever, & he the said
Absalom Boyet for himself his heirs executors adms. and assigns doth covenant and agree to
and with the said Obadiah Wade his heirs and assigns, that he or they shall and may at all
times hereafter peacibly & quietly hold occupie possess & enjoy the said granted land and
premises free and clear from all former bargains sales gifts grants mortgages dower right
or title of dower or any other incumbrance or molestation whatsoev er, allways excepting
the taxes that is hereafter laid on the same, & he the said Absolum Boyet for himself and
his heirs doth further promise that he or they shall or will warrant and forever defend the
said granted land and premises with all the appurtenances unto the said Obediah Wade his
heirs & assigns forever, from and against him the said Absolom Boyet his heirs & assigns &
all other persons lawfully claiming or to claim from or under him then or any of them &
from & against all and all manner of persons who now lawfully claim or hereafter lawfully
may claim will warrant & forever defend the said lands or any part or parcel thereof, and
will at any time hereafter at the request of the said Obadiah Wade his heirs & assigns, make
over and assign any other deed or deeds for the better securing the above mentioned lands
and premises. In witness whereof the said Absolom Boyet hath hereunto set his hand and fixed
his seal this first day of October Anno Domini 1787.
