Alexander & Herring Carter to Enoch Quinn
Deed 280 acres
This Indenture made the 7th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and thirty nine between Alexander Carter herring Carther of the County of Duplin
of the one part & Enoch Quin of the County of Duplin & State aforesaid of North Carolina
of the other part witnesseth that that the said Alexander Carter Herring Carter for and
In consideration of the Sum of three hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt
where of is here by acknowledge our selves satisfiede and paid have given granted bargained
& salad and by these presents do Bargain & make over unto Enoch Quin his heirs & assigns
forever a certain Tract or parcel of land being and lying in the State and County aforesaid
on the warter of mathes branch Begining at a pine Rachael Davises corner & runs No 120 poles
to a pine in the line of Between Rachael Davis and Daniel Poters thence No 77 West 165 poles
to a stake in the medow thence No 55 Wt 52 poles to the road at the ditch then with the Rhoad
So 50 Wt 189 poles to a stake in the edge of the Sfire pond on the old patent line then So
45 poles to a jack the old corner thence Et to A lightwood stump in the head of the laiy
branch thence So 48 Et 65 poles to begining containing to hundred and Eighty acres to have
and to hold said tract or parcel of land and primices unto him the said Enoch Quinn his heirs
and assigns forever and further we the said Alexander Carter and Herring Carter do from our
selves or heris and assigns do warrant and forever defend the above land from the Lawfull
cliams or claim of any person or persons whomsoever to the said Enoch Quinn his heirs
administrators and assigns forever as witness our hands and seals sind sealed and delivered
in presents of us the day and date above written
