(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 304, & 305 Alexander Dickson To Robert Dickson Deed for 50 acres lands To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I Alexander Dickson of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency to me in hand well & truly paid or secured to be paid by Robert Dickson of the same place, befor the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath by these presents given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed conveyed & confirmed assigned and sett over to Robert Dickson aforesaid one certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying & being in the State & County aforesaid on both sides of the main road and drains of green branch being part of a survey of 615 acres granted to the said Alexander Dickson by patent bearing date day of. Begining at a stake by a pine in green branch said Alexander Dickson's line, thence as said line No. 60 Wt. 120 poles to a stake his corner on Robert Dickson's line, thence along said Robt. Dickson & Alexr. Dickson's line No. 15 Wt. 182 poles to a stake, thence So. 30 Et. 284 poles to the begining, containing in the whole fifty acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said bargained land and premises to him the said Robert Dickson his heirs and assigns forever, free from all forner gifts grants mortgages intails wills jointures legacies executions entents or troubles whatever & the said Alexander Dickson the above bargained land and premises to him the said Robt. Dickson his heirs & assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend from & against him the said Alexander Dickson his heirs & assigns as also from the just and lawfull claim of every other person or persons whatsoever, who may hereafter lay any lawfull claim to the same & the said Robert Dickson the aforesaid land and premises shall & may have hold use occupie enjoy & possess as his own free & lawfull inheritance, free from all incumbrance whatever, except the yearly rents or taxes as they shall become due on the said land. In witness whereof the said Alexander Dickson hath hereunto set his hand and seal this eleventh day of Oct. in the fourth year of American Independence & in the year of our Lord Christ 1779. Alexander Dickson Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Dorothy Dickson James Dickson State of North Carolina Duplin County October Term 1786.
