Alexander Dickson To James Carr
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made this twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty six & in the eleventh year of the American Independence Between
Alexander Dickson of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin planter of the one part and
James Carr of the same County and State afroesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and
in consideration of the valluable sum of ten pounds currency of said State to him in hand well
and truly paid by James Carr before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath by these presents given granted bargained sole & set over
to the said James Carr his heirs & assigns one certain tract or parcel of land sittuate lying &
being in Duplin County aforesaid on the north side of Maxwell swamp joining and between Jeremiah
Holden's Alexander Holden's and Robert Dickson's. Begining at a pine Ales. Holden's corner
thence along his line So. 39 Wt. 126 pole to a stake at Maxwell swamp on Jeremiah Holden's line,
thence along his line No. 70 Et. 144 pole to a stump, thence along his other line So. 55 Et. 134
pole to a pine his corner, thence Et. 26 pole to a stump on Robert Dickson's line, thence No.
110 pole to a pine, thence WT. 202 pole to the beg'g., containing in the whole one hundred acres
be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with all the
appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, free from all former gifts grants
mortgages intails wills executions entents or troubles whatsoever, and the said James Carr the
aforesaid land & premises shall and may have hold use occupie possess & enjoy as his own lawfull
inheritance free from all incumbrance whatever given granted or done by him the said Alexander
Dickson or any other person by from or under him the said Alexanders Dickson the aforesaid land
and premises shall and will warrant and forever defend to him the said James Carr his heirs &
assigns forever, from & against him the said Alexanders Dickson his heirs & assigns as also
from and against the just and lawfull clame of any other person who may hereafter lay any claim
to the same. In witness whereof the said Alexander Dickson hath hereunto set his hand and seal
the day and year first above written.
