Adam Platt To Moses Hanchey
Deed for 100 acres lands
To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I Adam Platt of the
State of North Carolina and County of Duplin for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
pounds currencey to me in hand paid or secured to be paid by Moses Hanchey of the same place
before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
myself to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid & of every part and parcel thereof do
by these presents acquit and forever discharge the said Moses Hanchey his heirs and assigns
forever, have by these presents given granted bargained sold assigned & set over to the said
Moses Hanchey, to him and his heirs forever, one certain tract or parcel of land containing by
estimation one hundred acres, be the same more or less, lying on the north side of Maxwell swamp
above the mouth of Stocking head. Begining at a pine near to Henry Gillman's line and runs No.
55 Et. 127 pole to a pine, thence No. 35 Wt. 127 poles to a pine, thence So. 55 Wt. 127 poles
to a pine, thence to the begining, being the contents of a patten granted to the said Adam Platt
the twenty sixth day of October 1767. To have and to hold the said bargained land and premises
with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appurtaining to him the said Moses
Hanchey his heirs and assigns forever, free from all former gifts grants mortgages intails
jointures dower or right of dower or any other incumbrances whatsoever given or granted by him
the said Adam Platt or any other person by from or under him and I the Adam Platt the above
bargained land and premises shall and will forever warrent & defend to the said Moses Hanchey
his heirs and assigns forever, from and against him the said Adam Platt his heirs and assigns,
as also from and against the just & lawfull clame of every other person whatsoever who may
hereafter lay any lawfull claim to the same. In witness whereof the said Adam Platt hath
hereunto set his hand & seal this second day of October in the year of our Lord Christ 1779,
and in the fourth year of American Independence.
