Adam Platt To Joshua Newel
Deed 100 acres
This Indenture made the seventeenth Day of July and in the year of our Lord Chrits one
thousand seven hundred & Eighty nine & In the thirteenth year of the American Indepen-
dence Between Adam Platt of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolina planter on
the one part & Joshua Nervel of the same place planter on the other part. Witnesseth
that the said Adam Platt for and in divers good causes and considerations himself
Thereunto moving & consisting but more especially out of gratitude to his Daughter &
Son In Law hath given granted assigned set over and confirmed unto the said Joshua
Nervel his Heirs and assigns forever one messuage tract or parcel of Land situate lying
and being in the County of Duplin and State aforesaid on the Branch of Rockfish called
Big Branch of Fussels Creek. Begining at a pine In the west side of said Branch thence
So. 80 Wt. 100 poles to a pine thence So. 10 Et. 110 poles to a pine thence So. 80 Et.
80 poles To a pine Thence No. 85 Et. 5 poles to a water oak on the Run of said Branch
thence up the Run as his other line to the first station Containing on the whole one
hundred acres Be the same more or less it being the contents of a patent granted to
Aron Williams & conveyed to said Platt By Deed To have and to hold the aforesaid Land
& premises with all the appertainances to the same beloning of Every nature or kind
whatever to him the said Joshua Newel his heirs & assigns forever the aforesaid Land
and premises shall and may have hold use occupy enjoy and possess as his own free and
Lawfull inheritance free and clear from all former gifts grants bargains leases
Morgages wills, Intails, jointers Dowries judgments Executions Entents or Troubles
of Law or Incumurances whatever. In the aforesaid Adam Plat his heirs & assigns the
aforesaid land and premises to him the aforesaid Joshua Newel his heirs & assigns
shall & will forever warrent & Defend forever from against him the said Adam Platt
as also from agains the just & Lawfull Claim or Claims of any person or persons
whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawful Claim or Claims to the Same. In witness
whereof I the said Adam Platt hath hereunto set his hand & fixed his seal the Date
above written.
