Absolom Langston To William Wilkins
Deed for 191 acres of lands
This indenture this twentieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and eighty three, between Absolom Langston of the State of No. Carolina and County of
Duplin of the one part, and Williams Wilkins of the State and County aforesaid of the other
part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds lawful money to
one Absolom Langston in hand paid by Wm. Wilkins before the ensealing and delivery of these
presents, the receipt thereof I acknowledge myself to be satisfied and paid every part and
parcel thereof therefore have given granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents
do fully and freely absolutely alien convey & confirm unto William Wilkins his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being
in the County aforesaid (to Witt) lying on the No. side of the No. Et. and on the So. Side of
Cabbin branch. Begining at a black jack on his own line and runs So. 25 Et. 180 poles to a
stake in the center of three pines, thence So. 65 Et. 152 pole to a pine on Mr. Whitfield's
line, thence with his line No. 35 Et. 179 poles to his own line, thence to the begining,
containing one hundred & ninety one acres. To have and to hold to the said William Wilkins
his heirs executors administrators and assigns together with all advantages woods ways water
and water courses, and as for my part the aforesaid Absolom Langston my heirs executors
administrators & assigns doth hereby covenant promise and engage unto the said William Wilkins
his heirs executors administrators and assigns that they shall peacibly and quietly hold use
occupy possess and engage, the aforesaid land and premises with all the appertenances &
priviledges to the same belonging, and as for me the aforesaid Absolom Langston my heirs
executors administrators and assigns, will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid land and
premises as aforesaid to William Wilkins his heirs exectors & administrators & assigns against
the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have set
my hand and fixed my seal the day and date above written.
