Absalum Boyet To John Williams
Deed for 75 acres lands
This indenture made this first day of March in the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred & eighty six. Between Absalum Boyet of the State of No. Carolina
& County of Duplin planter of the one part & John Williams of the State & County aforesaid
planter of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Absolum Boyet for and in consideration
of the sum of sixty two pounds ten shillings current money of said State to him in hand paid
by the said John Williams, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge himself therewith
fully satisfied contented & paid & therefore hath given granted bargained sold aliend
enfeoffed conveyed & confirmed & by these presents doth absolutely give grant bargain sell
alien enfeoffe convey & confirm unto the said John Williams his heirs & assigns forever one
certain messuage tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Duplin containing by
estimation seventy five acres be the same more or less. Begining at a Spanish oak Mr. Alexr.
McCulloch's line on Peters Branch, then down the various courses of the Branch to Prescoats
Spring Branch, thence up the various courses of the said Branch to where it crosses the said
Branch & runing with the said fence as it now stands to the Branch again & thence up the
Branch to where McCulloch's line crosses the said Branch & thence along said McCulloch's
line to the begining which said land lying & being in Duplin County & on the So. side of
Panter swamp patend by the said McCulloch October 9th one thousand seven hundred & fofty
nine & transferred from him to John Williams deed bearing date April the ninth seventeen
hundred and sixty one & from him to Richard Prescoat & from the said Prescoar to Major Croom
& from Majoy Croom to Absolum Boyet to the said John Williams registered in the Registers
office may more fully appear. To have and to hold the above demised land & premises with
all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him
the said John Williams his heirs & assigns forever, to his or their proper use benefit &
behoofe forever, & I the said Absolum Boyet doth covenant & agree to and with the said John
Williams that before the ensealing & delivering of these presents, that I am the true &
lawfull owner of the above demised premises, & have in myself good right full power & lawfull
authority to sell and dispose of the same & will at any time hereafter whern thereunto
required make over any other deed of conveyance unto him the said John Williams or to his
heirs & assigns, as his council learned in the law shall advise & require and doth by virtue
of these presents agree & engage to warrant & defend all and singular the land aforesaid to
him the said John Williams his heirs & assigns forever, against any person or persona whatever
that may ever challenge or clame the same. In witness whereof I the said Absolum Boyet have
hereunto set my hand & fixed my seal the day & year first above written.
