Abraham Beesley To Joseph Willson
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred & eighty five, between Abraham Beesley of the State of North Carolina & County
of New Hanover planter of the one part and Joseph Willson of Duplin County and State aforesaid
of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Abraham Beesley for divers good causes and
considerations him thereunto moving, but more especially for the consideration of the sum of
four pounds current money to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Willson at and before the
ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of the same he the said Abraham Beesley
doth hereby acknowledge himself to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid, & hath by
these presents given granted bargained & sold and set over unto him the said Joseph Willson his
heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract of parcel of land containing one hundred acres of
land in Duplin County on the So. side of Maxwell's swamp & the north side of Partons branch &
Cabbin branch, including Taylor;s meadow. Begining at a pine the third corner of James Wallace's
survey thence at Wallace's line No. 55 Et. 60 pole to a pine, thence No. 35 Wt. 127 pole to a
pine, thence So. 55 Wt. 127 pole to a black jack thence crossing the Indian Grave branch So.
35 Et. 127 poles to a pine thence to the first station, be the same more or less as by the plat
& paten granted to Abraham Beesley bearing date the fourth day of November 1784, as doth appear
to which he the said Abraham Beesley hath given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed
unto him the said Jos. Willson his heirs and assigns forever, all and every of above mentioned
land and premises togeather with all woods waters mines minerals heriditaments & appurtenances
to the said land belonging or appertaining. To have and to hold the said land & premises unto
him the said Joseph Willson his heirs and assigns forever, and he the said Abraham Beesley doth
covenant & agree to wattent and forever defend the said one hundred acres of land unto him the
said Joseph Willson his heirs and assigns forever from and against the just & lawfull claim or
claimes of any person or persons who may lay any lawfull clame to the same, and he the said
Joseph Willson his heirs and assigns shall & may have hold sell use occupy possess and enjoy as
his own free and lawfull inheritance freely & clearly from all other gifts grants bargains
mortgages deed dowers or incumbrance whatsoever only the yearly taxes laid on the said land by
the General Assembly now or hereafter is or shall be laid excepted. I Witness whereof he the
said Abraham Beesley hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day and year first above
written.
