Abraham Beesley To Thomas Heath
Deed for 83 acres lands
This indenture made the twentieth day of December in the ninth year of American
Independance and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty four,
between Abraham Beesley of the State of North Carolina and County of New Hanover of the one
part, and Thomas Heath of said State and County of Duplin of the other part. Witnesseth that
the said Abraham Beesley for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving, but
more especially for the valluable consideration of the sum of twenty pounds current money of
the State aforesaid to him in hand well & truly paid or secured to be paid by Thomas Heath
aforesaid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the rect. whereof is hereby
acknowledged, hath by these presents given granted bargained sold assigned and set over to
the said Thomas Heath his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land
situate lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on the south side of Maxwell swamp on both
sides the main rode. Begining at a white oak & four pines on the swamp side Beesley's corner,
thence his line west 96 poles to a pine, thence So. 85 Wt. 56 poles to a maple two box trees &
three sweet bays in a pond or drean, thence down the drean No. 45 Wt. 46 poles to a water oak
at the run of poplar branch, thence down the run thereof as it meanders to a water oak, at the
mouth thence on the run of Carr's branch, thence down the run of Carr's branch as it meanders
to the mouth in Maxwell Creek at the road, thence down Maxwell creek as it meanders until a
point due west strikes the begining, thenc to the first station, containing in the whole by
estimation eighty three acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid
land and premises with all the appurtenances therunto belonging or in any wise appertaining
of every nature or kind whatsoever, free from all former gifts grants martgages intails wills
enecutions extents or trouble whatever and the said Thomas Heath the aforesaid land and
premises shall and may have hold use occupy enjoy and possess as his own free and lawful
inheritance, free from all incumbrances whatever given granted or done by him the said Abraham
Beesley or any other person or persons by from or under him & the said Abraham Beesely the
aforesaid land and premises shall & will warrent and forever derend to him the said Thomas
Heath his heirs and assigns forever, farom and against him the said Abraham Beesley his heirs
and assigns as also from and against the just and lawfull clame of all & every other person or
persons whatever, who may hereafter lay any lawfull clame to the same. In witness whereof the
said Abraham Beesley hath hereunto set his hand & seal the date above written.
