Abraham Andrews To John Batts
Deed 100 acres
This Indenture made the 15th day of August Seventeen hundred and ninety one between Abraham Andrews
of Duplin County and state of No. Carolina send greeting know ye that the said Abraham Andrews for and in
consideration of Ten pounds specie to me in hand paid before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof unto John
Batts of the County and State aforesaid have Bargained Sold and conveyed Enfeoffed and assigned set over
unto John Batts a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing by Estimation one hundred acres be the same
more or less being in Duplin County and on John Williams branch joining Sarah Batts line Beginning at a
water oak on the side of John Williams branch by the ford and runs So. 56 East 255 poles to water oak on
the long Branch thence Down various courses of the long branch to said Williams’s Branch thence Down Williams’s
Branch to the first station. To have and to hold the said Land with the Edfiss profits previledges to the
same belonging or otherwise appertaining to him the said John Batts his heirs and assigns forever and that
the said Abraham Andrews at the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents hath a good Right and Lawfull authority
to bargain and sell the same in manner above said unto John Batts his heirs and assigns forever the said Abraham
Andrews for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth farther promise and warrant that the said Land
and premises is free and Clear from the Lawfull Claim Challings Dowry or demands of any person or persons
whatsoever shall and the same will warrant secure and defend unto the said John Batts his heirs and assigns
forever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the Date above mentioned.
