Granted to William McCanne one hundred and forty sever acres of land in Duplin County on 
the West Side of the North East branch of Cape fear river at the mouth of Mill branch.  
Begining at a pine on George Powels line.  Thence his line No. 80, Wt. 70 poles to a pine 
John Whitmans corner.  Thence Whitmans line So. 40, Wt. 128 poles to a stake.  Thence South 
45, Et. 56 poles to a pine.  Thence Hodgesons line No. 65, Et. 110 poles to a pine his corner.  
Thence his other line South 25, Et. 220 poles to a Cypress in Mill run.  Thence Hodgesons other
line South 53, Et. 66 poles to a white oak on the River his corner.  Thence across the Mouth 
of Mill run No. 8, Wt. 22 poles to a pine stump the first station of Thos. Johns old 420 acre 
survey.  Thence that line No. 20, Wt. to the Begining.
