Granted to Samuel Houston Eight Hundred acres of land in Duplin County on the East side of the
No. East river joining his own lines and the Soracte Lands and William Hubbards lines. Begining
at a white oak & pine his own corner on the Head of Bloody branch and runs with his line So. 60
Wt. 25 pole to a white oak. Thence North 30, Wt. 90 pole to a pine. Thence No. 60 Et. 58 pole
to a stake the corner of Soracte Land. Then with that line No. 20 Et. 193 pole to a red oak.
Thence Et. 150 pole to Hubbards line a water oak and gum in a pond. Thence with his line So.
119 pole to a pine. Thence Et. 10 pole to a stake. Thence So. 216 pole to a pine. Thence So.
61 Et. 306 pole to a lightwood Murrows corner. Thence So. 46 Wt. 288 pole along his own line to
a pine. Thence No. 60. Wt. 276 pole to a stake on his own line. Thence No. 15 Et. 118 pole to
a white oak his corner at the head of Dogwood branch. Then with his other line to the Begining.

So. 34 Et. 125 poles to an oak his corner. Thence South 56 Wt. 74 poles to a red oak his corner
& John Murrows. Thence with his line So. 50 Wt. 116 poles to a stake his corner. Thence No. 54
Wt. 280 poles to Hubbards. Thence East 100 poles to an oak his other corner. Thence to the

the head of Horshead Marsh near Sowells line and runs on or near his line So. 45 Wt. 140 poles
to a pine on the upper side of Gum branch. Thence No. 65 Wt. 260 poles crossing the branch to a
pine on his own line. Thence with that line No. 45 Et. 140 poles to a stake. Thence to the
Begining.

on the lower side of the said branch & runs with his line So. 65 Wt. 37 poles to a pine in the
edge of the swamp. Thence So. 90 poles to a stake on Southerlands line. Thence with his line
No. 70 Et. 85 poles to a black jack his corner. Then So. 50 Et. 50 pole to a pine by the Duck
pond Twilleys Corner. Thence with his line No. 65 Et. 80 poles to a stake. Thence No. 48 Wt.
120 poles crossing the Miry branch to the Begining.
