Granted to James Gillespie ninety eight acres of land in Duplin County Wt. side the No. East 
river and lower side the Grove Swamp.  Begining at a pine his own corner by his field & runs 
his own line North 66 Et. 68 poles to a stake on his other line.  Thence that line Wt. 60 
poles to a pine.  THence No. 55 Wt. 160 poles to a water oak on Stokes's line.  Thence Stokes's 
line So. 40 Wt. 100 poles to a pine.  Thence So. 40 Et. 92 poles to a stake Phillip Southerlands
corner by Hell Swamp.  Thence his line No. 50 Et. 50 poles to a Holly.  Thence to the Begining.
