Jacob Taylor Groves

I also have an ancestor who was in the Confederate Navy. His name Jacob Taylor GROVES, born Duplin Co. N.C. 1845, died 1913. He was not a sailor, but did work on the ships as he learned blacksmithing from his father. He escaped from the Wilmington, N.C. blockade in 1865 just prior to the end of the war. Buried at Hillsborough Co. Florida. He is my great grand Uncle. His father was John Kelly GROVES born Duplin Co. North Carolina in 1813, died about 1881 and John Kelly Groves is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Duplin County. John Kelly Groves is my 2nd great grandfather.
