I have several ancestors who were in the Civil War. Hezekiah Dobson Keanansville, Perry H. Dobson, and Daniel B. Dobson, father and son near Warsaw.

Daniel B Dobson was born in Duplin Co. NC in 1846. He was the son of Perry Dobson and Eveline Swinson Dobson. Their family is listed in the 1850 census, Northern Division of Duplin Co. His age at that time listed as 4 yrs.

Daniel was the fifth child in a family of 12 children. He was an older brother to my G.Grandmother Harriet Ellen Dobson. He was in the Civil War, a Pvt. in Co. H, 167 Regiment. After the Civil War he is listed again with his family in the 1870 census.

I found Daniel again listed in the 1880 census in Alabama living with his wife Carrie and his son Daniel B. Jr.,8 mo. He was 32 yrs. old then. I followed him through the 1900, 1910, 1920 censuses. In 1900 he said that his birthdate is Oct. 1844 and he is 55 yrs. old. His wife carrie died and he then married her sister Alabama. They had three more children.

Daniel died Nov. 5 1922 age 82 on the death certificate. He is buried in Demopolis, Alabama.
