Mama’s Sour Cream Pound Cake
This recipe comes from the collection of my mother Pearl Stroud Mercer
½ pound butter
3 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
6 eggs
½ tsp salt
1/4 tsp soda
½ pint sour cream
Sift togeether flour, salt and soda. Cream butter and sugar. Add 1 eggs, beat, add 1 cup flour
and beat, repeat until all eggs and flour have been added. Beat well. Fold in sour cream.
Pour into a tube pan greased with butter. Place in a cold oven and turn to 325 degrees. Do not
open oven for 1 hour. Cook 1 and ½ hours. Let cake cool in pan for a few minutes.
