Will of William M. Mercer


  North Carolina, Duplin County I, W. M. Mercer of the aforesaid state and county being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my Last Will and Testament. First, My Executor being after named shall give my body a decent burial and pay all burial expenses together with all my first debts, and of the first money which may come unto his hand belonging to my estate. Second, I give and bequeath to my nephew Calhoun Mercer all my household and kitchen furniture of every kind and description, all my farming utensils, carts and other vehicles and all personal property of every nature and kind included, notes, accounts, and evidence of debts. Money in Bank of Warsaw and two notes of $500.00 each made to my by J. B. Thomas and one note of $200.00 made to me by J. G. Thomas. Third, I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend H. F. Pierce my Lawful Executor to all intents and purposes, to execute this my Last Will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and Testaments by me hereafter made. In witness whereof, I the said W. M. Mercer do hence unto set my hand and Seal this the 12th day of November 1915. W. M. Mercer (his mark) Seal Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said W. M. Mercer to be his Last Will and Testament with presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witness thereto.
