July Term 1816
The last Will and Testament of Thomas Bennett was Exhibited into Court and proven by the oath of Elija Bizzell and Issac Woodard two of subscribing witnesses thereto. And at the same time John Beck, Thomas Bennett, and John Bennett, the Executors named in the said will came before the court and qualified as such according to law.----------
Ordered that letters issued accordingly

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Bennett of Duplin County & State of North Carolina aware that it is allotted for all men to die doe there fore deem it prudent at this time being possessed of a sound & desposing mind & memory blessed be God--------- for the same to express & direct in what manner my temporal Estate shall be disposed of after my deceased It is therefore my will & desire that the same be in manner & form following:
I give & bequeath to my son Thomas Bennett to him & his heirs for ever fifty acres of land which joines the said Thomas Bennett line, which said land I purchased at Joseph Wade sale & lies along brand side of said line------------
Item I give & bequeath to my two sons John Bennett & Kinnard Bennett to them& their Heirs forever all the residue of my land, including the Plantation whereon I now live to be equally divided between Them
I give & bequeath to my son Jesse Bennett one Hundred Dollars to be raised out of my Estate
Item I give unto my Daughter Catherine Bennett one Hundred Dollars & one feather bed & furniture to be raised out of my Estate.
Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Hanner Bennett one feather bed & furniture & one cow and calf
Item I give unto my son Kinnard Bennett one feather & furniture
Item: my will & desire is that the Hole of the residue of my Estate after all my just debts are paid = shall be sold by my executors & the money arising from the said sails to be equally divided between the Hole of my children in the manner & form following to wit that is to say William Bennett Dd children to have one share & my son Samuel Bennett the Heirs of my Daughter Sarah Mellard Dd one shear in the place of their said Mother-------to my Daughter Mary Wiley & my Daughter Rebekkah Hines, to my son Thomas Bennett & interlined (sic) af— my son James Bennett & my son Jerry Bennett & my son Jesse Bennett & myson George Bennett & my son J Bennett & my son Kinnard Bennett-------------- & my Daughter Sarah Rogers & my Daughter Hanner Bennett & Daughter Catherine Bennett to them & their heirs forever
and I doe Heareby Revoke & make null & void all and every other will or wills by me made
I doe hearby Nominate and appoint my two sons Thomas Bennett & John Bennett & my friend J. Beck my Executors to this my last will and testament
