  Source: Personal Record Written: 1829 Will of JOSEPH BRICE of Duplin County, N.C. 20 Feb. 1829 - Probated May Term 1829 To my wife MARTHA - Negroes SIMON, JEAN, MINERVA, for her natural life then to sons Son, FRANCIS - piece of land recently purchased of HENRY and privilege of 30 acres on east side of Rockfish Son, JOHN L. - all my land lying West of Rockfish; one feather bed and furniture Son, WILLIAM B.- all my land lying West of Rockfish that is to say the place whereon I now live; one feather bed and furniture Daughter, MOLCY JANE HICKS' children $300 or a negro girl to be bought and kept until the children come of age. Daughters, RACHEL A., ELIZA and AMANDA negro MEHALA and should any of them die the deceased part of my sons Five hundred acres on the northeast river to be sold to pay my debts.
