Will of Elizabeth C Wright
In the name of God Amen
I Elizabeth G. Wright of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina.
Being of sound mind & understanding do make this my last will & testament
In manner & form as follows. I commend my soul to God who gave it & my body
to the dust from whence it came to be decently intern & that all my just debts be
paid by my executors thereafter named.
Item 1st. I will & bequeath unto my children Thomas H. Wright, John Wright, Mary
Bush, Rebecca E. Hooks, five dollars each to them their heirs & afsigns forever.
Item 2nd. I will & bequeath unto my daughter Martha E. Hines one bed & furniture
to her heirs and afsigns forever.
Item 3rd. I will & bequeath unto my son David Wright my wagon and harness & a
half dozen Silver table spoons & a trundle to him his heirs & assigns forever.
Item 4 I will unto my daughter Eliza S. Wright a half dozen silver teaspoons & trundle
& my jig & harness & her choice of my horses to her, her heirs & afsigns forever.
Item 5th. I will & bequeath unto my daughter Catherine A. Wright a half dozen Silver
teaspoons & trundle and her choice of my horses to her her heirs & afsigns forever.
Item 6th. I will & bequeath unto my children (jointly) David Wright, Eliza S. Wright &
Isaac Wright the residue of my property consisting of Corn Fodder Cattle Hogs Horses
Household & Kitchen furniture plantation tools & all other articles not mentioned to
them their heirs & afsigns forever to them.
Item 7th. I will & bequeath unto my son Isaac Wright my negro boy Calvin & a half dozen
silver teaspoons a trunk & my mara? That is called his provided that he receives it as a
full a conhtet? Renumeration for the legasy of one hundred dollars left him in his fathers
will. Then & upon that oppneh? condition I bequeath the boy Calvin unto him this said
Isaac to his heirs and afsigns forever. Further provided in case of the death of the said
Isaac before he arrives to be twenty one years of age or maries. It is my will & intention
that the said Negro boy Calvin shall be equally divided between my sons David Wright &
daughter Eliza S. Wright to the their heirs & afsigns forever.
Lastly I constitute & appoint my Brother Buckner L. Hill my lawful executor to this my last
will & testament. In witness where of I have here until set my hand & affirm my seal this the
18th of January one thousand eight hundred & forty. Signed & sealed in the presence of text.

The written last will and testament of Elizabeth Wright and is brought into court and the executive
thereof duly proved by this Oath of Thomas Hill one of the subscribing witnesses There to and
at the same time.
Buckner S. Hill the exuctor therein named came before the court and give before as executor
thereto ordered that this will be recorded & ____ testimony ifave?
