Looking for information on my GGGGrandfather Samuel Whaley, Sr. He had four sons Samuel Jr., Daniel, Kinsey, and James Whaley. Samuel Sr. is on the Census for 1784-1787. There were 4 households mentioned: Samuel, William, James, and Francis Whaley. These four may have been brothers or one of them father to my Samuel Whaley, Sr. Some things point to James Whaley, since some of his early land grants and deeds are related to land deed mentioned in 1813,of Samuel Whaley,Sr.

m#SULLIVANSULLIVAN posted by Anne Sullivan on Saturday, November 7, 1998

My husband and I are planning a trip to Duplin County later on this winter. He had ancestors that lived there. Insel SULLIVAN born in 1809 and died in 1890 in Duplin County. We need to see if we can get back to his father, etc.

I know that two of his children Elias and Lemuel were in the Civil War. They were in Company C, 51st Regiment. I think they were know as the "Duplin Stars". Do you have any information about that regiment or can you tell me if the library there has any. I am trying to make sure Elias(who was my husband's great grandfather) is for sure the child of Insel.

There are seven Vicks listed as head of households in the 1790 census of Duplin County, N. C. I am especially interested in John. He is listed as having three children. Is there any way of me determining the names of his children ? Is there any way to determine the names of the VICK combined twenty-eight children ? Thank you for any assistance you may render.
