THOMAS SHELTON b. 7-28-1791 m. Mary T. Bernett ? b 3-1-1796 I ordered land transactions from Salt Lake He purchased 3 diferent times. Have ordered microfilm of the first - Only to find his parents. In the 1790 Census: The only Shelton is a Thomas. Guess it may be his father. But - I must be sure - Have no idea if they were in VA, north of Duplin Co., or were there for a long time. I have their Bible - no clue. They are buried in Lee Co., Miss. Are there any newsletters, books for sale, genealogy societies? I belong to the Garland Genealogy Society in Dallas County TX. If you can help and/or forward my plea to someone, I would appreciate it very much. Regards.

I have just received a copy of a map showing cemetaries in Duplin County and wonder if you have any information regarding the one labeled Smith Chapel on what looks like Rt.111. I am hoping to find Jones SMITH who shows up on the 1810 census as being over 26 and under 45. I don't know his wife's name but know he had four children under 10 years of age. I am hoping one of them is my George Smith (there are so many of them) born Nov.22,1804.

JONES, Anthony, Duplin County, & any connection with GRADY (GRADDY), also of Duplin County. Have deed dated 1799 involving Anthony JONES, also court records of his involvement with GRADYS of that time period. Also, JONES, Lou, who married George Whitfield GRADY (son of Whitfield GRADY & Elizabeth KORNEGAY, whose 1st son, John Kornegay GRADY, was my gggrandfather). John Kornegay GRADY named his first son, my grandfather, Louis Jones GRADY, and he in turn named one of his sons (my father), Edward Jones GRADY. I want to establish a connection, if there is one, between Lou JONES and the possibility that my grandfather, Louis Jones GRADY, could have been named for her. So I wish to adduce information concerning the families of both Anthony and Lou. Thanks.

We are trying to trace Joshua James BLANTON, I b. 1728. He had four sons Richard, John, James and Joshua James II, b. 1760. They lived in Duplin County in the area of Harrells Store now Harrells, NC. This could also have been Sampson County since it seems that the county borders may have changed.

Searching for information on the BOWDOIN/BOWDEN/BOURDEN family. My ancestor was William BOWDOIN, born in 1802 in N. C. (possibly in Duplin Co.). While he was very small, his family migrated into Georgia and then into Alabama. He married Emily C. COOPER in 1824 in Montgomery, Alabama and lived in Autauga/Elmore County until his death in 1870. He had a sister Eliza who was born in 1816 in Georgia. Any information you could send me on the BOWDOINS/BOWDENS/BOURDENS of that area may help me find William's parents, g/parents, etc. I have the names of his children: William, Joseph Arthur, Reddin Read, Essey, Mary A., Elizabeth E., Isaac Butcher and John A. W. Any information will be greatly appreciated. HH
