Submitted by Sloan Mason The Sun April 8, 1845 Murder-- A most brutal murder was committed by two slaves in Duplin County, NC on the 27th ult. on the person of their master, Mr. Henry Smith, residing near Strickland's Depot. They way-laid him in a swamp, and beat him with a club unitl he was dead. They were both arrested. |
