This information is contributed by Fran West Powell County Court begun and held for the County of Duplin at the Court House thereof on the third Monday of October, being the 16th day of said Month 1809. Present: The Worshipfull Daniel Glisson, Edward Pearsall, Wm. Southerland, James Maxwell, John Hufham, Esquires. Upon motion [ordered] Alexander West, a child of colour now about sixteen years of age, be bound apprentice to John Hufham till he attain to the age of twenty-one years to learn to be a farmer and to get his living by labour.
