Obituary of Vann Roscoe Teachey ~ 1979

Rose Hill - Ross Teachey, 75, died Friday afternoon in New Hanover 
Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today from the Island Creek 
Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. John Allen, Ralph Culler and Reese 
Riggins. Burial will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Eunice Teachey; three daughters, Mrs. 
C.E. (Kathryn) Smith of Hampstead, Mrs. Joe (Miriam) Johnson of Warsaw 
and Mrs. Gerald E. (Emily) Mumma of Boca Raton, Fla.; one son, Wendell 
Teachey of Rose Hill; one sister, Mrs. Mary Bradshaw of Teachey; one 
brother, Dallas Teachey of Teachey; 11 grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, he was the son of the late Vann Buren and 
Callie Norris Teachey. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Island 
Creek Baptist Church.
Casket bearers will be V. H. Rouse, Pete Bradshaw, Myron Teachey, Allen 
Teachey, Jimmy Teachey, and Joe Teachey. Honorary bearers will be B.F. 
Rivenbark, Odell Teachey, William Teachey, Wilbert Hanchey, Henry Carter, 
Charles Rivenbark, Elwood Fussell and Oscar Rivenbark.
Visitations will be at Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace until 3 p.m. 
today, when the body will be taken to the church. He will lie in state one 
hour before the service.
