Obituary of Thurman Jackson Rivenbark ~ 1984

Wilmington - Mr. Thurman Jackson Rivenbark, Sr., 67, of 7134 Market 
Street, Wilmington, N.C., died Saturday morning in New Hanover Memorial 
Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Rivenbark was born in Wallace, N.C., on Feb. 8, 1917, the son of the 
late Thomas Jackson and Ludie Mae Cavenaugh Rivenbark. He was a member of 
the Ogden Advent Christian Church and a charter member of the Ogden 
Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Rivenbark was owner and operator of Ogden Motors 
until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Faye Hall Rivenbark of the home; five sons, 
Brunson Neal Rivenbark of Hampstead, N.C., Thurman Jackson (Jack) 
Rivenbark, Jr., Daniel Glenn Rivenbark and Thomas Berry Rivenbark all of 
the home and Richard Wayne (Ricky) Dunbar of Hampstead, N.C.; two 
daughters, Mrs. David E. (Patricia) George and Mrs. Ricky (Rosita) 
Crawford both of Hampstead, N.C.; two brothers, Alton D. Rivenbark of 
Hampstead, N.C. and Elwood L. Rivenbark of Wilmington, N.C.; 11 
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Ogden Advent 
Christian Church with the Rev. Harold R. Crocker officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Coble's Oleander Chapel between 5 and 
6 p.m. Sunday.
