Obituary of Shad Kornegay ~ 1952

Shad Kornegay, 66, of the Albertson community of Duplin County died of a
heart attack Saturday afternoon. Mr. Kornegay who had been in ill health
for sometime had walked out to an old tobacco barn near his home, and when
he failed to return, members of his family went in search and found him
dead.
Funeral services were held in the Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church in
Duplin County at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Lloyd Vernon in charge,
assisted by Rev. Boyce Wallace. Burial took place in the church cemetery.
Surviving relatives include his widow, the former Ethel Kilpatrick of
Duplin County, one son, J. D. Kornegay of Kenansville, one daughter, Mrs.
Jack E. Grady of the community, one brother, Frank Kornegay of Albertson;
five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kornegay of Kinston, Mrs. Clifton Sheppard of
Calypso, Mrs. Howard Kennedy of Warsaw, Mrs. Roland Thomas of Pink Hill
Rt. 2 and Mrs. Henry Tyndall of Albertson, Rt. 1.
