Obituary of Roy Edward Thigpen ~ 1976

Wallace - Mr. Roy Edward Thigpen, 48, of Rt. 2, Wallace, died early 
Thursday morning.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Edgerton 
Funeral Chapel by Rev. Phillip Denton. Burial will follow in Riverview 
Memorial Park near Watha.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Gladys Savage Thigpen of Wallace; four 
sisters, Mrs. Halie Smith of Wallace, Mrs. Faye Midgett of Sneeds Ferry, 
Mrs. Hubert Boone of Magnolia, Mrs. Effie Griffin of Burgaw; two 
brothers, Johnnie Thigpen of Burgaw, and Leon Thigpen of Wallace.
A native of Duplin County, he was the son of Mrs. Gladys Savage Thigpen, 
and the late Roland Thigpen. He was employed with Miller Brothers Milling 
Co.
Casketbearers will be Wade Smith, Buddy Griffin, Douglas Wood, Darwood 
Fisher, Raeford Brock, Preston Albertson.
The family will be at the funeral funeral home on Friday from 7 to 
8:30 p.m.
