Obituary of Robert Flavius Stroud ~ 1961

Robert Flave Stroud, age 79, died early Monday morning at his home 
following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday after 
noon at 2:00 o'clock, at the Wallace Methodist church by Rev. W. H. Kirby, 
pastor, assisted by Rev. J. P. Jones, pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness 
Church. Interment followed in Rockfish Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula A. Stroud of the home, one son, 
Donald Stroud, of Sanford, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Moore, of 
Anaheim, Calif.; three step sons, Clifton Wallace, of Wallace, William 
Wallace, of Hollywood, Fla., and R. B. Wallace, of Juneau, Alaska; four 
step daughters; Mrs. O. C. Brock, of Kinston, Mrs. J. M. Jarman, of 
Jacksonville, Mrs. Edgar Williams, of Beulaville, and Mrs. Raymond 
Teachey, of Rose Hill two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Wood, of Wallace, and Mrs. 
Hattie Cavenaugh, of Rose Hill; one step sister, Mrs. Zella Wood, of 
Wallace; one step brother, Henry Cavenaugh, of Wallace; eight 
grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
