Obituary of Retha Mae Carter Powell ~ 1996

Kinston -- Retha Mae Carter Powell, 77, of 904 Back Street, Kinston, died 
Saturday, November 9, 1996. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Powell and a grandson, 
R. Carnell Sloan. 
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from Pinelawn Memorial 
Park with the Rev. Dean Dobbs officiating. 
Survivors include one daughter, Edna Sloan and husband, Ruben C. Sloan 
of Merritt; three grandchildren: Dr. Ronald Sloan of McGregor, TX, 
LaDonna Rosenberg of Cary, NC and Keith Sloan of Apex, NC; and six great 
grandchildren. 
Howard-Carter & Stroud Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
