Wallace - Mr. Raleigh W. "Toots" Sholar, age 73, of 249 Sloan St., 
Wallace, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at New Hanover Regional Medical 
Center in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m. from the 
Padgett Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Philip G. Eakins. 
Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hilda Mobley Sholar of the home; 2 sons, 
Marion C. Sholar and wife Pat, of Ivanhoe, and Jerry T. Spell and wife 
Becky, of Castle Hayne; 2 grandchildren, Chris Spell of Wrightsville Beach 
and Miss Melissa "Misi" Spell of Castle Hayne; 2 sisters, Mrs. Annie Helen 
Rivenbark and Mrs. Kathleen Sholar Blanton, both of Wallace.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Sholar was the son of the late Perry Exum 
and Lilly Blanton Sholar. He was a veteran of World War II, having served 
in the U.S. Army, and was a retired service manager.
Casketbearers will be William Norris, Earl Croom, Terry Sholar, Bob 
Pruitt, Bill English and Larry Mobley.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. 
Friday and at their residence, 249 Sloan St., Wallace, other times.
