Obituary of Percy Carroll Teachey ~ 1993

Rose Hill - Mr. Percy Carroll Teachey, age 88, of Route 1, Rose Hill, died 
Sunday morning, Dec. 26, at the Brian Center in Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, from the 
Rose Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jon Strother and Rev. 
Leonard Doucette. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Englert of 
Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Fish of Fredericksburg, 
Va., Mrs. Wayne (Linda) Williams of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Rev. Wilbur 
C. Teachey and wife, Sylvia, of Wilmington and James C. Teachey and wife, 
Betty, of Greensboro; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Rivenbark of Wallace; one 
brother, Fred Teachey of Wallace; eight grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wives, Mrs. Viola Mae Cavenaugh 
Teachey and Mrs. Eunice Clifton Teachey.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Teachey was the son of the late Nelson and 
Sallie Cottle Teachey. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Rose 
Hill United Methodist Church.
Casketbearers will be: J.E. Rackley, Courtney Cooper, Larry Teachey, Tom 
Hawkins, Burke Petty and Jody Rivenbark.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. 
Tuesday and will be at Mr. Teachey's residence, Route 1, Rose Hill, other 
times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 9:15 a.m. Wednesday when it 
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
