Wallace - Mrs. Norma Cavenaugh Fussell, age 83, of 629 Southeast Railroad 
Street in Wallace died Wednesday evening, March 15, at Pender Memorial 
Hospital in Burgaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, from the 
Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Larry King and Rev. John A. 
Johnson. Burial will follow in the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery in 
Chinquapin.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Dorothy J.) Shafter of Raleigh; 
two sons, Stacy Lee Lanier and wife, Patsy, of Rose Hill, and Roy Allen 
Lanier and wife, Linda, of Newport; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bill (Helen) 
Sholar of Wallace and Mrs. Louis (Grace) Sasser of Winchester, Va.; one 
stepson, Frank Fussell and wife, Sarah, of Burgaw; one sister, Mrs. Hazel 
Jenkins of Wilmington; three brothers, Dewey E. Cavenaugh, James Clifton 
Cavenaugh and Thomas Franklin Cavenaugh, all of Wilmington; six 
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 17 
step-great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Fussell was the daughter of the late 
Carmer and Susan Walker Cavenaugh and was a member of Corinth Baptist 
Church.
Casketbearers will be the Deacons of Corinth Baptist Church.
The family received at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 
will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Stacy L. Lanier, 1316 Pasture 
Branch Road, Rose Hill, other times.
