Obituary of Melber Cavenaugh Stroud ~ 1982

Wallace - Mrs. Melber Cavenaugh Stroud, 77, of Rt. 2, Wallace died
Saturday afternoon at the residence of her daughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Edgerton Funeral
Chapel conducted by the Rev. Billy Toler. Burial will follow in the
Cavenaugh Cemetery, Rt. 2, Wallace.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herman W. (Bertha) Raynor, and Mrs.
Clifton (Esther) Jones of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Cavenaugh,
and Mrs. Bessie Cavenaugh both of Wallace; one brother, Mike Cavenaugh of
Turkey; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Stroud was the daughter of the late John
William and Katie Teachey Cavenaugh. She was the widow of Carl L. Stroud
and was a member of the North East Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Stanley Cavenaugh, John David Cavenaugh, Elbert
Sholar, Eddie Cavenaugh, Garland Cavenaugh and Aaron Cavenaugh.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and
will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Jones Rt. 2, Wallace, other
times.
