Obituary of Lucille Lee Batts Sanderson ~ 1979

Wallace - Mrs. Lucille Lee Batts Sanderson, 77, of Rt. 3, Wallace, died 
early Monday morning in her home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Northeast 
Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Billie Toler and 
Rev. Timothy Creel. Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lois Sanderson Moore of Wilmington, 
Mrs. Hazel Cavenaugh of Kernersville, Mrs. Louise English of Wallace and 
Mrs. Peggy Brinkley of Warrenton; six sons, Homer T. Sanderson of 
Wilmington, Dan Sanderson of Charleston, S.C., Roy Sanderson of Rose Hill, 
Johnny Sanderson of Chinquapin, J.B. Sanderson and Bradley Sanderson, both 
of Wallace; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Futrelle of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. 
Ruby Atkinson of Hopewell, Va., Mrs. Franklie Register of Beulaville and 
Mrs. Ruth Butler of Knoxville, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Homer Jules 
and Sarah Cavenaugh Batts, and was the widow of Horry Lee Sanderson. She 
was a member of the Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Glenn Sanderson, Kent Sanderson, David Sanderson, 
Harry Sanderson, Jimmy Moore and Dan Sanderson Jr.
The family will receive at Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace from 7 to 9 
p.m. Tuesday night, where visitations will remain until 1 p.m. Wednesday 
when the body will be taken to the church.
