Chinquapin - Mrs. Laura S. Clark Brock, age 90, of Chinquapin, died at 
5:00 a.m., June 2, 2000, in Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 
15, 1909. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, from the Padgett 
Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Durwood Fisher. 
Burial will follow in the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Clark of Wallace, NC, and 
Martha C. Albertson of Chinquapin, NC; one son, Raeford T. Brock of the 
home; one grandson, Steve A. Batchelor of Vienna, Austria; four 
granddaughters, Linda Kay B. Warming and husband Eric of Hokessin, 
Delaware, Gloria A. Simpson and husband Ricky of Wilmington, NC, Sandra 
A. Futrell and husband Ranny of Burgaw, NC, and Tina A. Davis and husband 
Jay of Wilmington, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Elaina Warming of St. 
Petersburg, FL, Ryan Warming of Hockessin, Delaware, Susan Simpson of 
Chapel Hill, NC, Beverly Simpson of Wilmington, NC, David Simpson of 
Chapel Hill, NC, Harold Futrell and Brent Futrell of Burgaw, NC; two 
great-grandchildren, Tori and Addison Futrell; and a very special friend, 
Linda Teachey of Rose Hill.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Brock was the daughter of the late Jerry 
and Ida Savage and was the widow of David Thomas Brock. She was a member 
of the Sharon Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Steve Batchelor, Ryan Warming, Brent Futrell, Jeremy 
Davis, David Simpson and Harold Futrell.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. 
Saturday and will be at the residence of Mr. Raeford Brock, 3023 South 
N.C. 50, Chinquapin, other times.
