Obituary of Kathleen Savage Brown ~ 1973

Castle Hayne, N. C. -- Mrs. Kathleen Savage Brown, 56, of Route 1, Box 126,
in Castle Hayne, N. C., died late Wednesday night in the New Hanover
Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Rose Hill, N. C., born October 2, 1917, Mrs. Brown was the
daughter of the late Ernest and Mrs. Priscillia S. Savage. She was a
member of First Pentacostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Pender L. Brown of the home; one son, Timothy
Mark Brown, also of the home; six daughters, Mrs. Betty Cox of Kinston,
N. C., Mrs. Yvonne Dill and Mrs. Judy White, both of Wilmington, N. C.,
Mrs. Nell Gayhart of Jacksonville, N. C., Mrs. Joyce Sykes of Tulsa,
Okla., and Mrs. Faye Burton of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Joel
Savage of Wilmington and Jesse D. Savage of Florence, S. C.; four sisters,
Mrs. Myrtle Morse, Mrs. Nora Carr, Mrs. Annie Billings, and Mrs. Daisy
Batten, all of Wilmington, N. C.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild
also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the First
Pentacostal Holiness Church, Rev. T. O. Todd and Rev. K. D. Brown
officiating. Interment will be in the Brown Family Cemetery near Burgaw,
N. C.
The family will receive friends from Coble's Oleander Chapel Friday from
8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
