Obituary of Jessie Bell Summerlin Tillman ~ 1978

Mrs. Jessie B. Summerlin Tillman, 75, of LaGrange Rt. 1 died Sunday in 
Lenoir Memorial Hospital. 
Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p. m. from the Howard & Carter Funeral 
Home Chapel. The Revs. William Ham and James Bell will officiate. 
Burial will follow in the Jones and Tillman cemetery. 
Survivors include seven daughters, Misses Adell and Emma Tillman of the 
home, Mrs. Lillian Pilkington and Mrs. Ruth Carlyle of LaGrange, Mrs. 
Ruby Rouse of Goldsboro, Mrs. Mildred Price of Fayetteville and Mrs. 
Minnie Jones of Grifton; four sons, Morris of Snow Hill, Coy of 
Goldsboro, Joe, William and Eugene Tillman all of LaGrange; three 
sisters, Mrs. Donnie Whitfield of Mount Olive, Mrs. Letha Summerlin of 
Faison and Mrs. Kathleen Herring of Warsaw; two brothers, Robert of 
Lawton, Okla. and Albert Summerlin of Pink Hill; a half sister, Mrs. 
Penny Southerland of Mount Olive; a half brother, Randolph Southerland 
of Mount Olive; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p. m. Monday.
