Obituary of Jessie Eunice Norris Teachey ~ 1991

Rose Hill - Mrs. Jessie Norris Teachey, age 83, of Route 2 Rose Hill died
Sunday afternoon, April 14, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in
Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. from the
Island Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Reece Riggins, Rev. Ralph
Culler and Rev. Millard Bounds.
Burial will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Emily) Scoville of
Havelock, Mrs. Clarence (Kathryn) Smith of Hampstead, and Mrs. Joe
(Miriam) Johnson of Warsaw; one son, Wendell Teachey of Rose Hill; three
sisters, Mrs. Bob (Edith) Henderson of Wilmington, Mrs. Waitus (Morie Lee)
English of Hampstead, and Mrs. Horace (Hilma) Roberts of Surf City; one
brother, Kenneth Norris of Wallace; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Teachey was the daughter of the late Vann
and Emily Kathryn Cavenaugh Norris and was the widow of Ross Teachey.
She was a member of the Island Creek Baptist Church, having taught Sunday
school for approximately 35 years.
Casketbearers will be W.C. English Jr., Jesse Henderson, Winston Henderson,
Donald Teachey, Dwight Teachey, and Everette Bradshaw Jr.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:30
to 9 p.m. Tuesday and will be at Mrs. Teachey's residence, Route 2, Rose
Hill, other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12 noon Wednesday, when it
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
